Julia Bradbury’s Support For The HECK! Prostate Cancer UK Campaign

Our awareness campaign with Prostate Cancer UK has been picked up by Julia Bradbury on her Outdoor Guide website and newsletter.

The cause is particularly close to Julia’s heart as her father was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2010. So when she spotted our campaign, she decided to include it in her own website in support.

Her father Michael Bradbury, 73, discovered he had prostate cancer after his brother, Stuart, who was in the process of recovering from the same disease told him to get checked out.

Julia said: "We were devastated as everyone is. I mean when you hear the cancer word in the context of your family immediately your blood runs cold and your worst fears come to the forefront of your mind."

We sent Julia and her family a box of the special Dad’s Day sausages to help raise awareness of the cause.

As Jamie says “Julia’s story really resonates with our family. Sadly, my grandpa didn’t get diagnosed until it was too late. It’s really important to talk about the risks, and our Father’s Day card and pack is designed as a fun way to get the conversation going.”

Take a look at HECK’s Jamie Keeble’s story here. We’re encouraging everyone to chat to their dads to raise awareness during our fundraising week for Prostate Cancer UK.
