Gooey cheesy mac n cheese or a juicy burger? Why not have both! This burger recipe not only lets you in on the best ever mac n cheese recipe, but also combines it with our Chicken Italia Burger for the ultimate indulgent meal!
Ingredients:
- 1 Pack Chicken Italia Burgers
- Burger Buns
- Macaroni pasta
- Grated Cheddar Cheese
- Grated Mozzarella
- Grated Gruyere Cheese
- For the white sauce:
- 50g Butter
- 50g Flour
- 500ml Whole Milk
- 1tsp Black Pepper
- 1tsp Salt
- 1tsp Paprika
- Grated Cheddar Cheese
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 160 degrees and grate the cheeses if not already grated
- Bring a large pot of salted water to boil, once the water is bubbling add the pasta
- Whilst the pasta boils make the white sauce. The first step is to melt the butter in a large pan then add the flour and whisk to combine. This creates a roux which is a paste like texture
- Slowly pour in the milk whilst whisking constantly to avoid lumps occurring
- Stir in the spices – pepper, salt and paprika
- Stir in a good handful of cheddar cheese
- Add the cooked pasta to the white sauce
- Pour half of the pasta into a baking dish and top with the 3-cheese mix of grated cheddar, mozzarella and gruyere
- Pour the rest of the pasta on top and cover with the rest of the grated cheeses
- Pop the mac n cheese into the oven for 15 minutes
- Whilst the mac n cheese cooks, fry off the Chicken Italia Burgers on medium heat for 15 minutes
- Take the mac n cheese out of the oven and assemble the burgers loading each burger bun with the burger and then the mac n cheese
