We wanted to help out our local community to combat rural isolation and a lack of bus routes, so we’ve gone and got a bus! What’s more, The Yorkshire Vet joined us for our first ride!
After carrying out door-to-door deliveries during the pandemic, we found out from many local people how they struggled to get around due to the lack of bus routes in the area. This made us think about what we could do to help out the local community, so we’ve gone and bought a bus! And it’s pink!
Our new community bus will transport people from villages near our factory in Bedale to markets in Northallerton to combat rural isolation and boost local trade.
Jamie Keeble, one of our co-founders, said “It’s really good that we can give back a little bit to the community that has supported our business since we first started.”
If you’re in the local area and require use of our minibus, you can simply book or reserve it, drive it yourself or request a driver. With no set timetable or fares, our community bus is here whenever you need it!
Check out our interview with BBC Look North to find out more about how the HECK! minibus is supporting the local community.
So, if you spot a pink bus flying around here, there and everywhere, make sure to give us a wave!
