At HECK! we’re always looking for ways to improve the wellbeing of our team, and that includes our furry friends too!
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting our staff, we’ve made a paw-sitive move by introducing the UK’s first Head of Pooch Pampering and Canine Liaison Officer. This new role is dedicated to ensuring our four-legged friends are treated like family, pampered to perfection while their owners are hard at work.
The new HECK! Doggy Day Spa is a game-changer for our team members who want to bring their dogs to work and give them the best possible care during the day. The spa menu includes a variety of treats and indulgent treatments – from a starter of Howloumi Sticks and Canine Croquettes to a main of S-paw-ghetti Carbonara and Bark-B-Q Pork. For dessert, pups can enjoy Woofles with Cream or refreshing Pup-sicles. Plus, there are plenty of grooming services available, including Pawdicures, Vanity Furs and a soothing Ruff Day Massage.
One of our stars is Dexter, a boy Spaniel with an eye for glamour. He’s always posing and loves his glossy, curly coat to be just right. Dexter, owned by our very own Jamie and Liv Keeble, is a regular visitor at the Dog Spa, where he’s treated like royalty.
Becky Keeble, who works at HECK!, has stepped up to embrace her new role of Head of Pooch Pampering and Canine Liaison Officer. She’s dedicated to ensuring our dogs receive extra special attention, and in her own words, “It’s just as therapeutic for us as it is for the dogs. We get to spend time with them, grooming and fussing over them. They’re all such a big part of the HECK! family and have such wonderful personalities.”
The idea of dogs at work came about after we created a Dog Hotel following lockdown, giving staff the option to bring their pets to work and enjoy the beautiful farm surroundings. The initiative has been a hit ever since, with employees loving the opportunity to see their dogs and take them for walks during breaks.
Jamie Keeble, HECK! Co-Founder, says “When we all came back to work after lockdown, we opened our Dog Hotel so our pets could enjoy our lovely farm as well. It’s great that Becky has taken on the role of our paw-some pooch person – we’re sure she’ll make a great paw patrol leader!”
This initiative is just one of the many ways HECK! supports the health and wellbeing of our team. From employee health screenings to a wellness area and healthier canteen options, we’re committed to creating a positive and supportive work environment. And, with a growing number of workplaces becoming dog-friendly, we know how much of an impact it can have. Research has shown that dogs in the workplace help to reduce stress, boost team morale and improve the overall atmosphere.
Our dogs aren’t just adorable, they’re a big part of our team culture. Boris the Bulldog loves splashing in the paddling spa, while Mabel the Cavapoochon is always cheeky, but happiest when her teeth are nice and shiny. And, let’s not forget Peaches, the Pomeranian who’s always ready to boss everyone around, especially after her fluffy blow-dry!
